Google, please let Charlotte County, FL be your Fiber Optic Community!!! Pretty Please!

Google is testing 1Gb high speed Internet service and Charlotte County should be its test site!
1Gb is approximately 100 times faster than our current high speed Internet (Cable Modem & DSL)
 
Okay Google, here is the scoop.  I live in Charlotte County, Florida and our internet is as slow as molasses.  I don't mean to be rude, but it is just the truth.  We have two internet options if you don't consider dial up.  We have Centurylink which is our local phone service and Comcast cable.  That is it.  And, if you try to pay to upgrade your internet with Centurylink, they can't even offer a speed even close to what is available in most areas.  We live in a great area where people truly care about each other.  In August of 2005, that was put to the test when Hurricane Charley came to visit. 
 
 

Ground Zero was Punta Gorda, FL right in the middle of Charlotte County.  The damage we had was extensive but I will tell you what,the resolve of the people was amazing.  Neighbors helped out neighbors, offering to help any way they could.  In my subdivision, many of us were living in trailers in our front yards because our homes were not liveable for a year or more.  We have survived this and we just need some help to get ahead.  We are a wonderful place to live but we need to have access to top of the line high speed internet.  Google, if you can offer this to us, you give us opportunity.  Opportunity to bring in business to our area.  High tech businesses that would otherwise be unable to consider our area. 

So please Google, please help us!  Plus while you are here, you can check out why we love Charlotte County so much.  It is beautiful here.  We still have that small town atmosphere and not too much traffic and gorgeous sites.  So Google, please come and visit and give us a chance.  Let us be your Fiber Optic Community.  Pretty, pretty please?  I asked nice. :-).
