Affordable and Classy Workout Wear For Women Including Plus Sizes! Hurry! Great Deal on Kate Hudson Designs

I want to look good when I head out to the beach or when I go to visit an exotic island somewhere, don't you?  So we have to work out to look our best but honestly I want to work out in something that looks amazing.  I mean if I have to sweat, I might as well look good doing it.  That was the thought anyway, at least until I started searching out nice and comfortable workout wear for the gym that I could actually afford.

When you go to the health club you always see people in really cute health club attire and I wonder where they get it.  Of course, most of them are tiny and I am a plus sized gal.  I believe that is part of the reason I can't find anything nice to wear to work out, that was until now!

Well, I was thrilled to find Kate Hudson's brand new line, Fabletics which has an entire amazing line of activewear.  "Each style boasts a flawless fit and is comprised of the most high-performance, quality materials."  You can get a great deal on really nice workout wear.  Even better, they figured out the looks and you just pick which you want.  You get the entire set, shorts, capris, tops, tanks, whatever you want they have it.  I promise you will love it.

Even if you have not thought about working out in a while, these outfits look so cute they will motivate you to get healthy.  At least that seems to be working for me!

So, hurry and check them out!  The best styles sell out quickly so you will want to hurry.  Oh and their largest size is approximately a plus size 20W-22W.  Thank you Fabletics!!!

How Parents Can Make The Most of Summer With The Kids on A Budget! Free Admission to The Museum!

Summer is finally here!

School is out and now you have the time to enjoy your children all day long.  In some ways, that is fantastic.  More quality time with the kids.  In other ways, you might just be pulling out your hair within a few weeks or you will never see them as they are on the computer, on their smartphones on snapchat and other social media sites.  What can you can do with the kids to get them out of the house without breaking the budget or your sanity?  You can take them to the beach but with the super warm weather, that gets old quickly.

One thing I always loved to do with my kids was to frequent the museums in the area.  Unfortunately admissions to the most popular museums can be quite expensive.  That is why I wanted to share an affordable family option perfect for mom and dad as well as grandma or grandpa.

For those not familiar with the ASTC Science Center Free Reciprocal Program, you will love this!  Simply become a member of a local hopefully more affordable museum or science center included in the program.  That membership will give you free access to all the other museums that participate in every state in the United States!  Some states have limitations that the museum or science center must be a certain distance from the home museum, but that is not the case in Florida where I live.  In Florida, you can visit ANY of the locations listed!  (Confirm this with the location you will be visiting in case there are changes)

Here is an example:

Join the Charlotte County Historical Society Museum in Port Charlotte, Fl.  Memberships for an individual are just $25 a year or $35 for a family or grandparent membership.  Grandparent membership includes spouse and grandchildren 18 and under.

With that membership, you are now able to go many museums, 22 in Florida alone including the Orlando Science Center, (highly recommended!) for free or the Museum of Science and Industry in Tampa, (MOSI) for free!  Not bad since admission to the Orlando Science Center runs $19 for adult, $17 for senior, $17 for student with id or $13 for youth age 3-11.  This could be quite expensive if you have many grandchildren or a large family like I do.  General admission at MOSI in Tampa runs $22.95 for adults, Seniors 60 + $20.95 and children 2-12 for $18.95.  Expect to save hundreds of dollars on admission and have a blast with your kids or grandkids this summer!  The great thing is this membership will be valid for a year so you can use this again and again during spring break, vacation days from school, during Christmas holiday time and any time you choose.  Here is the current list.

Be sure to follow my blog to get the scoop on travel deals, coupons and more.

Ready For Your Summer Vacation Or Weekend Getaway? Save 50% on Hotel Stay and Hotwire Hot-Rates!!

Living in Florida, I love to explore all the wonderful touristy vacation spots like Miami, Orlando, Tampa, Sarasota, Sanibel Island and Key West.  The better deal I find for hotel stays, car rentals and vacations, the farther my vacation budget goes and the more places our family can visit and the more trips we can take.  It's a win win!

As a mom of three boys, I have always had to be careful about budgeting for vacations.  Having kids is worth more than anything in the world to me but realistically they are expensive which makes family vacation trips expensive.  When growing up, I can remember limited vacation trips other than the annual trip to grandmas house.  I wanted to be able to do more for my kids and with the deals I find at Hotwire, our family has been able to enjoy amazing vacations at bargain prices!

Why I prefer Hotwire over other bargain sites like Priceline

You can certainly find a deal at Priceline, but you have less control over what you get for your money.  It is like a shot in the dark.  You might get something good, you might not..  If you book a hotel on Priceline, you are not going to have much say in what you end up with as far as if they offer free breakfast or have a pool. For some people that is okay, but for folks with a family, having more control over what is included is helpful.   At Hotwire, you also don't know the name of the hotel, but they give you specifics like how big the hotel is, if you get free breakfast, if they have wifi and all those important details many of us with or without families prefer. For me, it provides the comfort level I need to be sure I am making the best travel vacation decisions.

So if you are looking for a weekend getaway or a weekly vacation adventure, be sure to try out one of my favorite travel websites, and visit Hotwire today.  I have managed to enjoy some great trips to Orlando with the help of Hotwire and I got the deals at bargain prices.  Check it out, you will be impressed!

4-star hotels.  2-star prices.  Save up to 50% with low Hotwire Hot-Rates!

Save 50% on a Teavana Shaken Iced Tea at Starbucks!

During my summer vacation in Orlando, I made sure to stop at the new Starbucks at Downtown Disney in Lake Buena Vista and the one at Disney World in the Magic Kingdom.  While there I fell in love with a new drink, a Teavana Shaken Iced Tea called Passion Tango tea.

According to Starbucks website, a 16 ounce serving is just 80 calories which is perfect for those of us who are watching our weight.  Most Starbuck locations allow for a refill at just $0.54 cents as well so be sure to keep that in mind..  I enjoyed a refill at the Downtown Disney location which was perfect for a nice summer day in sunny Florida.

This Thursday, June 26th, be sure to try the Teavana Shaken Iced Tea at 50% off from 2-5 pm.

One More Reason To Visit Charlotte County, Florida: Punta Gorda Farmers Market on Saturday

Don't Miss the Farmers Market!

If you have not shopped the farmers market in your local area, you may be missing out on some of the best healthy food options out there.

For those local or visiting Southwest Florida, you will definitely want to make a visit to the Punta Gorda Farmers Market on Taylor Street across from the historic Charlotte County Courthouse on Saturday.

Located close to I-75 making it an easy drive from Sarasota, North Port, Port Charlotte, Cape Coral and Fort Myers, you will want to take the time while traveling to stop by downtown Punta Gorda.  If you are looking to make a day of it, be sure to include the quaint Fishermens Village shopping mall and marina.

There are numerous vendors with fresh fruits and vegetables, fresh breads and pastries, artists, Xocai healthy chocolate, kettle corn, landscaping plants and so much more at the Punta Gorda farmers market.  Not only can you find unusual items, it is honestly just a lot of fun.  Obviously many agree because the market is always bustling with people.  I especially love that you can watch artists create masterpieces at the market and there is always music playing plus I can always be sure to find something unique to bring home as well.  New this year, the market now takes EBT so everyone can access the freshest fruits and vegetables!  (Simply go to the cheese booth to get your EBT coins)

In Punta Gorda, the Farmers Market is year round.

Hours in winter season (through May) are 8 am to 1 pm, summer season hours are 8 am to noon.

According to the Punta Gorda Chamber of Commerce site, the Punta Gorda Farmers Market was "Voted the best small market in Florida and 15th in the USA, we have a large number of vendors offering fruits and vegetables, dried fruits and nuts, Italian bakery, fresh homemade pasta, kitchenware, cupcakes, beef and fresh seafood, fresh citrus, jewelry, candles and soaps, dip mixes, Florida arts and crafts, cheese, French bakery, baguettes and olives, homemade pies, orchids, organic produce, personalized pens, kettle corn, coffee beans and drinks, native and exotic plants. The Farmers Market has become a Saturday morning tradition, adding more vendors weekly.  There is always live entertainment."

Take the time to stop by your local farmers market.  You will love it!

Don't miss SWFL Charlotte Harbor Florida Christmas Light Boat Ride @ Fishermens Village Punta Gorda

Enjoy the Punta Gorda Lights on the Harbor

If you are feeling some seriously cold weather in your home state, now is the time to start planning your warm winter getaway in Florida. My parents are experiencing frigid cold temperatures in the Chicago Illinois area along with most of the country. I almost hate to tell them how blessed we are with amazing summer like weather and that we are all dressed in shorts, t-shirts and flipflops.  As you decide which part of Florida to visit, you really should consider Charlotte County Florida, a hidden gem in Southwest Florida nestled between Sarasota and Fort Myer.  Currently experiencing temperatures in the low 80's, it is a wonderful place to relax and retire.  Instead of the lines and traffic you will find in the Orlando Kissimmee area, Charlotte County is a nice and relaxing place with plenty of events and activities without the hassle you will find at an amusement park.  You can fly right to the Punta Gorda airport and it is also close to Fort Myers airport as well as Sarasota.

No stop to Charlotte County is complete without a visit to Fishermen's Village in Punta Gorda.  Along with some amazing shops, waterfront dining, live entertainment and Villa Vacation rentals, you can also enjoy Cruises on the Harbor.  The view of the evening Harbor cruise with the Christmas lights is stunning and certainly worth your time. Here are some of our favorite photos from a recent King Fisher Fleet Cruise.

Fisherman's Village is located at 1200 W. Retta Esplanade in Punta Gorda, Florida.  While visiting Charlotte County, you will also want to spend some quality time taking a nice walk on the beach or relaxing in the sand at Englewood Beach in Englewood, Florida.
