Tires, Alignments and Oil Changes Oh My!

Posted by Lyn at 2:50 PM
Today is not one of those days that I would consider to be fun. Not even close. First of all we already had to replace our tires that were only 2 years old. That does not seem right. And, of course Goodyear won't honor the warranty. Stupid me, I went ahead and ordered the same darn tires that wore out so fast before. Not sure what I was thinking, except that I wanted all the tires to match. You see, last month I replaced two tires and now I am replacing the other two as the tire split apart and I had been driving on my spare tire. Not a good thing. Oh did I forget to mention two tires is $400. I will have to save a bundle with coupons to make that up. Of course there were no deals on the tires I need. Apparently special order tires don't qualify for the specials. All I know is that when I replaced all four tires on our van it did not cost that much. Apparently SUV tires are much more, who knew. Another tidbit, you are supposed to have an alignment done or checked every 6,000 miles. Did not know that either. Live and learn I guess. Just wish it was not so darn expensive to learn. :-) Speaking of cars, don't forget to get regular oil changes. That much I knew. I have always used full synthetic oil as my dad and brother swear by it. My dad swears by Mobil 1 oil but I am not picky. Here is a coupon from valvoline for $6.00 off your next oil change. From their site you can put in your zip code and they will let you know the closest participating location

Still trying to find some great deals on an Alignment. Seems it is time for that too especially since we had to replace the tires. Let me know if you are aware of any deals.

I plan to grill out this weekend thanks to the great steak sale at our local Publix grocery store. Did I ever tell you how much I love the site Iheartpublix.com? They take all the work out of saving money at Publix! When you click on the site, click on weekly ads and you will get the weeks sale and options to click on printable coupons to maximize your savings. They have great deals like buy one get one free items and then coupons on both items. Sometimes you even end up getting the items for free. Definitely worth your time to check them out if you are near a Publix. Those of you near Meijer should check out their site. They offer great grocery coupons right on their site. There are lots of deals this weekend. Here are just a few that are my favorites.

The Coach factory store coupon is still good til Sunday so an extra 20% off is a big deal. I will definitely be heading out there this weekend. I hope to get a great deal! I will let you know. I just can't pass it up. It is my one weakness. I am a Coach girl through and through!

Uno Chicago Grill is one of my favorite restaurants. I am originally from the Chicago area and find great pizza lacking where I live in Florida. Uno Chicago Grill is my saving grace. Not close by but worth the drive. Try the Chicago Classic pizza and you will know what I mean. They have a coupon good from 9/5 to 9/10 for $5 of a $15 purchase. You can also order their carryout specials which save you quite a bit on pizza or flatbread. Each store varies their special but I have saved over $20 getting carryout over eating in the restaurant. So it just depends what your plans are. But good to know either way.

Rugs Direct has a Labor Day sale. Free shipping and 15% off your order. They already have great clearanced prices on rugs and with this extra 15% you will be amazed. Use code LDS15X. I was able to purchase an 11 X 14 rug retailed at $1400 for $99! So if you are in the market for a rug, be sure to check them out.

I just ordered Timothy's World Coffee, Extra Bold Parisian nights K-cups on Amazon for my hubby. Click here to get the deal He has never tried this one but wanted something different but still strong. Hope this fits the bill. I will let you know what he thinks. If you have tried this one, let me know. Or better yet, if you can recommend another bold k-cup let me know. Amazon is still the best price around. Listed at $19.43 for 48 k-cups but if you sign up for the subscribe and save you get an extra 15% off every time and free shipping. So my total order was only $16.52 for 48 k-cups! Not too bad. The great thing about the subscribe and save is that you can set it up for every month or up to every six months and still get the deal. Also if you try one and you don't want to order it again, you can go in and cancel it. No big deal.

Dillards also has a big sale so if you live in an area that has Dillards and you have kids, listen up. Dillards Labor Day Weekend Sale has boys and girls shorts and tops for only $4.99! If you are here in Florida, that is what they are wearing now so why not get a deal. If you are in a colder climate, you can still stock up for spring at that price. Normal retail is $14 to $40 so that is quite a deal. There is also 70% off Mens Sportswear, shoes, handbags and ladies dresses. Call 1-800-345-5273 to find a Dillards store near you or click here to locate one.
