Just completed an amazing shopping trip at Publix today. I know some of you may be watching the Extreme Couponing show and thinking you can buy your groceries for pennies on the dollar. But honestly, if you watch the show you will see they may be buying a ton of candy and a ton of sugared drinks, and that may or may not be what you want to purchase.
The best plan is to watch for the deals on the items your family can actually use and be open to try new brands. I am on this no high fructose corn syrup kick and am trying to purchase healthier meats so I am willing to pay more for that. Watching my coupons on other items lets me splurge on the other items I believe are healthier for my family.
When I saved $167.50 and paid $98.26 before tax at the grocery store I was pleased. Very pleased. No Extreme Couponer here, but I seriously plan my meals around the sales and the coupon deals I find.
This week Publix has the Eight O'Clock Coffee 12 ounce packs at Buy One Get One Free.
Use this printable coupon for $1 off each one making them just $2.30 a pack instead of $6.59 each.
Inside each package are coupons printed on the inside of the packages for $1.50 off! Empty your coffee into an airtight container and cut out those $1.50 off coupons. With 2 coupons, you can get your coffee for just $1.80 a pack!! With the price of coffee lately, this is a great stock up price!! Even better, the coupons don't expire until 12/31/12 so these will still be good the next time these are buy one get one free!
