The nice guy at the paint counter at Home Depot mentioned that Ralph Lauren is getting out of the paint business. They have fantastic finishes but they are a bit pricy for this economy. However, the Ralph Lauren Paint has a new lower price! I just paid $14 a gallon for their interior eggshell paint. (A total of $56 plus tax for 4 gallons) Once I submit the Home Depot rebate, I will get another $20 off ($5 a gallon X 4), making my purchase $36 before tax or $9 each (54% off before the rebate!!)
After the rebate, that is 70% off!!
Our local Murdock Home Depot is almost sold out, but there are lots of Home Depot stores around and I believe this just went on sale. Home Depot has the Candlelight top coat finish for $23 which is 50% off! Plus $5 off rebate per gallon, even the decorative finishes are $18.
I am going to do the candlelight finish over my basecoat. I can't wait. I was going to try to match the colors from Ralph Lauren to a cheaper brand, but this was by far the best price for paint. If you are looking to just do one color, $9 a gallon after rebate is a great price for premium paint. Th decorative finishes are a bit pricy but if you want your room to pop, they are really a way to get that designer touch. The one I picked is neutral but cool at the same time. I am so happy with this deal! Sad that Ralph Lauren is getting out of the paint business but happy for the price. Where will I be able to get all my great ideas for paint finishes?
