As I am enjoying a piece of the Margharita Home Run Inn pizza that we bought at Publix today, I thought I would share the scoop. We used to have to drive out to Costco in Fort Myers just to buy Home Run Inn Pizza and we did it because it is worth it. Home Run Inn is a very popular restaurant in Chicago. The original Home Inn Restaurant is right by Comisky Park in Chicago. Mary Vincent Grittani owned a small tavern on 31st in Chicago. A baseball from a neighborhood game broke one of the front windows and Home Run Inn was born. A trip to Chicago is not complete without pizza or pasta from Home Run Inn. There are 6 other locations as well but this is the original. Frozen pizza is available only in 20 states. Thank God Florida is one of them.
Their pizza is really good. The crust is unique and unlike any pizza you can find near my home in SW Florida. So the fact that Publix is now carrying this and that it is on sale Buy One Get One FREE is amazing to me. We noticed that Home Run Inn Pizza is well stocked at our local Publix and figured it is because people don't realize how good the pizza really is. If you are not familiar with Chicago, you might not realize it. Home Run Inn Pizza won the #1 Pizza at Taste of Chicago 6 years in a row!
These run $6.99 a pizza so for less than $7 bucks you can get 2 pizzas. Make your deal even better, spend $30 at Publix and use this $5 off printable coupon if Winn-Dixie is considered a competitor. My kids are going to be enjoying Pizza once a week for a while I think. The crust is so good. You just have to try it.
Plus all natural and no preservatives does not hurt either. :-)
