The House That Cleans Itself: Creative Solutions for a Clean and Orderly House in Less Time Than You Can Imagine

By wisdom a house is built, and through
Understanding it is established; through knowledge
its rooms are filled with rare and beautiful treasures.
                                                        Proverbs 24: 3-4

I don't know about you, but I have struggled my entire life to have a spotless home I can be proud of.  My house is presentable, yes, but it is never truly organized no matter what I do.  Now that the boys are teenagers, you would think it would be easier.  I mean in theory I should have more helpers.  Somehow that does not seem to be the case.  I certainly can't complain about my hubby.  He is great at helping out or doing whatever is needed.  But, still, I have this desire to have a home that is always clean and always organized.  Everything in its place.  Isn't that how it should be?

In a moment of weakness, I found this book called "The House That Cleans Itself" by Mindy Starns Clark.  It is supposed to offer creative solutions for a clean and orderly house.....  In less time than you can imagine.  I am going to start reading this book tonight and I am going to update my readers with the progress of my home transformation.  Who knows?  Maybe I am not the only one who has this problem.  I sure hope I am not the only one who feels this way.  I have a friend whose house is always spotless, no matter what. Some of my friends homes seem like nobody lives there, they are so clean.  My home always looks lived in.  And, maybe that is okay.  Lived in, tidy and organized.  That is my goal.  Here is my secret, my sad sad secret.  In my house are many junk drawers.  Many more than I would like to admit.  I have storage drawers in all of my dressers, in my end tables, my sofa table, pretty much everywhere.  And, in those drawers, things are just thrown in there like a big mess.  I just admitted it.  I am so ashamed.  :-)  In my defense, we have lots and lots of medical records and no basement to store things, but still you would think I could organize this a little better.  I fear I might be passing along this junk drawer syndrome to my kids. ug....

Well now you know the truth about me.  I am a junk drawer junkie who wants to reform.  I am hoping this book will help me do just that.  The House that Cleans Itself says you should Let your House Do the Dirty Work.  The author, Mindy Starns Clark, says that by following this step-by-step plan, you will be able to discover how to keep your house twice as clean in half the time.  And how to quickly change a messy area into a tidy one-permanently.

If you like me want your house to clean itself, think about getting the book for yourself as well.  Maybe together we can find a way to make this work.
