Don't forget to sign up for the "Give a Day. Get a Disney Day." promotion that starts on January 1st, 2010. Disney is promoting volunteerism and is offering a free day at Walt Disney World or Disneyland when you volunteer a day of service to a participating organization. (Must be completed and verified)
You can start signing up on January 1st, 2010. Disney is giving 1 million tickets away. I would hurry and sign up on the 1st just to be sure you are eligible to get your voucher. The volunteer opportunities must be through HandsOn Network (“HON”), Points of Light Institute or their affiliates.
This is a great opportunity to involve your children in volunteering. You must be 18 or over to sign up however you can sign-up up to 8 family members. Children age 6 and over are able to participate. Children ages 6-17 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian when volunteering.
Once you have completed volunteering and it has been verified, you will receive an email from Disney letting you know how to redeem your voucher. There are limited days that tickets cannot be used. You can check out their FAQ's here for all of the details.
