Kids Bowl FREE Program this Summer! Sign up Now for Affordable things to do with the kids.

Easter is nearly here and I hope everyone has a happy Easter and is able to spend time with family.  I have a feeling however that the continually increasing gas prices have stopped many people from spending time with family this Easter holiday.  It certainly stopped us and that is so unfortunate. Here the best price we could find was $3.82 a gallon and in the Chicago area, gas prices were as high as $4.20 a gallon.  I guess it is not so bad if you have a car that gets good gas mileage, but if you have a SUV like we do, we are not getting good gas mileage at all.  But what do you do if you have three teenage boys that are the size of men, you can't stuff them into a compact car.  With all five of us, it is a challenge.  I do miss my old Chrysler Van though.  Definately got better gas mileage than the SUV.  May have to look for a deal on a nice used van.

Well this got me thinking that we need to start coming up with some affordable staycation ideas for the summer with our kids.  Some of you may remember a program that was offered last summer called KIDSBOWLFREE.  It is a great program where kids 15 and under were able to bowl 2 free games every day all summer for free.  You still have to pay for shoe rental but you might find it could be more affordable to buy shoes.  That is what we ended up doing last year.  Our kids sure had fun last year and we enjoyed watching them play.

You can play with the kids too.  We just can't because of back problems, but if you are able, or have older children, be sure to sign up for the Family Pass.  The Family Pass was created to allow for adult family members to enjoy bowling throughout the summer as well. The Family Pass starts from $24.95 and includes 2 GAMES PER PERSON PER DAY.

The Family Pass covers up to 4 adult family members. You may have 1, 2, 3, or 4 adults on the family pass. The price of the pass covers all 4 members.  This works great if you have older teens like I do.  You pay for up to 4 members even if you only fill 1 or 2 slots, so think about adding Grandma and Grandpa if you think they might take the kids bowling this summer.

Click here to find a participating Bowling Alley near you.  Please note each bowling alley has their own guidelines as far as age requirements, times you can bowl and how long the program lasts.  Some programs last into the fall.  Hurry and sign up, May is almost here and this program will be starting soon.  Can't wait, my youngest was already asking about it.  :-)
